Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic, old time example of rare selenides from Germany!!! This specimen consists of a significant showing of "zorgite" - a name
given to a characteristic combination of Berzelianite, Clausthalite, Tiemannite, Umangite found at this locale!!! There is a significant
showing of darkly colored berzelianite that hosts several other rare selenides!!! There is also a significant showing of
green malachite and blue green chalcomenite present as well!!! One side of this specimen has been polished to show the
differing hues of the intergrown metallic species!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope, one can clearly see several different
hues (blue, magenta-purple, silver, grey, etc) specific to the various rare selenides!!! There is a lot going on with this specimen upon
close examination!!! This specimen retains an old, antique museum label and affixed catalogue number as well!!! Rare material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
