Description/Interesting Notes:
A magnificent example of bornite from Kazakhstan!!! While bornite is not uncommon as a massive ore mineral, actual crystals of bornite
are quite rare indeed!!! Usually when crystals are encountered they are somewhat poorly formed as well - however this specimen
hosts a sharp, complete, single crystal of bornite aesthetically perched on a lustrous quartz crystal matrix!!! The bornite crystal
exhibits sharp pseudo-octahedral form with an attractive slightly bluish green metallic hue!!! The crystal
measures 1.2cm and is complete all around!!! The quartz crystals have sharp, glassy faces and the entire cluster appears to be
a floater group - crystalline all around with no point of attachment!!! Simply an outstanding example of rare crystalline bornite!!!
This specimen is from the lifelong personal collection of Frank & Wendy Melanson!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MAY 9th!!!
