Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutely extraordinary, old time example of bornite from this seldom referenced locale!!! This specimen consists of a
huge single crystal of bornite!!! While bornite is not uncommon as a massive ore, actual examples of crystalline
bornite are quite rare by comparison!!! When bornite crystals are encountered, they are often poorly formed and of
smaller size!!! This amazing specimen consists of a highly complex crystal that has metallic luster and a
slightly iridescent bluish hue!!! There are some sharply defined crystalline features and upon close
inspection with a loupe or scope, one can see a network of minute crystalline features that give it an almost velveteen sheen!!! The specimen
is crystalline all around and there is a small, calcite rhomb in association as well!!! The calcite rhomb has a network of spikey,
calcite studs on its surface in addition to tiny crystals of an unidentified golden colored sulfide!!! This is
truly an extraordinary example of the species, as well as a major specimen for this seldom referenced locale!!! You
do not want to miss out on this rare opportunity!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
