Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare, old time example of fluorite on brucite from this famed historic locale!!! This specimen consists of a matrix of broad, intergrown
crystals of pearlescent brucite that hosts a lustrous, gem-clear cluster of complex fluorite crystals!!! The fluorite crystals range in color
from colorless to a faint blue-green!!! This blue green color appears to be the result of underlying crystals of bluish green clinochlore!!!
Small crystals of clinochlore can be seen scattered about the specimen as well!!! In person, the fluorite crystals are lustrous and
gem-clear!!! The crystals are much more significant than the pictures show - however they are so gemmy that they almost don't even show up!!!
The brucite crystals are present as broad, translucent pearlescent sheets, however there are some areas that show
some sharply crystalline features as well!!! This specimen came from noted East Coast collector Fred Parker and also retains an old, unattributed
handwritten label as well!!! Rare old material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MARCH 15th!!!
