Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of this very rare germanium bearing species from Tsumeb!!! This specimen hosts a significant showing of brunogeierite in
association with germanite and renierite!!! The brunogeierite is present as darkly colored masses, veins, and grains
scattered throughout a matrix awash with colorful iridescent metallic hues!!! The germanite is present largely as
brassy-magenta metallic masses and the renierite is present as brassy-orangeish metallic masses!!! There are
other related sulfides in association and the specimen shows a complex array of iridescent metallic patinas as well!!! In
person the difference between the species is much more distinct then they appear in the pics!!!
There are some curious features upon close inspection with a loupe or scope as well!!! This specimen retains an old label
from the Westhaus Mineral Museum, collection of Blair & Robyn Gartrell (the species Gartrellite is named for Blair Gartrell)!!! Rare material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY OCTOBER 18th!!!
