Buergerite Tourmaline with Opal Mexquitic, San Luis Potosi, Mexico 5.35cm x 4.18cm x 3.08cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic example of this rare tourmaline species from Mexico!!! These specimens come from a small, one time find from a locality that was known only to one person, now deceased - thus making it a "lost" locality!!! This specimen hosts numerous sharp crystals that measure up to 1cm!!! The crystals exhibit the characteristic internal golden iridescence that is somewhat similar to "tiger's eye"!!! Matrix examples of this species are uncommon and the great majority of these were found in rhyolite matrix - this is one of just a few examples I have seen where the crystals are in this attractive opal matrix!!! This specimen is in fantastic condition and displays magnificently in person!!! Rare material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
