Description/Interesting Notes:
A magnificent example of this rare tourmaline varietal from Mexico!!! These buergerite specimens came from a
one time find from a locality known only to the original miner!!! The miner brought his find to Tucson in the
1960's and subsequently died without ever revealing the location to another person!!! As a result, this material
is scarcely encountered on today's market!!! Usually these specimens are seen as single crystals, with matrix
specimens being rare!!! This specimen hosts numerous sharp, lustrous, doubly terminated crystals to over
1cm prominently perched on matrix!!!
The crystals have deep root-beer brown color with a characteristic, slight inner iridescence seen through the prism faces!!! The
golden brown iridescence is slightly reminiscent of "tiger's-eye" in person!!! This specimen is in fantastic condition all around!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
