Description/Interesting Notes:
A VERY RARE, old time example of lavender-pink calcite and galena from this historic locale!!! These fabled lavender-pink calcite
crystals are EXTREMELY RARE and date to the turn of the 1900's!!! These specimens are so rare that, outside of one
famed specimen at the Smithsonian, few collectors have ever seen one!!! Let me start by saying that this specimen is much
more dynamic and showy than the pictures show!!! This specimen has razor-sharp faces and superb, bright glassy luster!!! The crystal
has a characteristic lavender-pink color that has a dynamic internal glow!!! The termination is capped by a single complex galena
crystal - which I think is a fantastic association, as it really gives it a true "Tri-State" character!!! Of the very few
Webb City calcites I have seen, this is the ONLY example I have seen that had any galena in association!!! There is also
a face that hosts what appears to be some included galena as well!!! The crystal has a highly complex,
modified form that displays terrifically from numerous angles!!! Although the termination is not complete, the specimen is in otherwise
fantastic condition all around!!! The faces are exceptionally sharp and the luster is second to none - characteristic features of this
amazing material!!! These specimens are SUPER RARE - you do not want to miss out on this rare and valuable historic Tri State beauty!!!
Simply gorgeous in person - the pics don't even come close to doing it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY APRIL 12th!!!
