Description/Interesting Notes: A rare, 19th century example of calcite from this historic New York locale!!! Specimens from this historic locale are quite scarce indeed!!! This specimen consists of an attractive showing of calcite crystals on a matrix of massive, somewhat granular crystalline calcite!!! The main crystal consists of a sharply defined rhomb with marked clarity and luster!!! The crystal exhibits some smaller interpenetrant crystals as well!!! There are also two more sharply defined rhombs partially embedded within the matrix as well!!! This specimen retains an old handwritten label with corresponding affixed catalogue number!!!
