Description/Interesting Notes: A terrific example of hematite included calcite from Connecticut!!! This specimen hosts an impressive showing of lively red calcite crystals in association with tiny quartz points!!! The calcite crystals consist of sharply pointed, scalenohedral crystals that have an intense red coloration as a result of included hematite!!! The coloration is so lively that one could mistake this specimen for one of the more famous chalcotrichite included calcites from Arizona!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
