Description/Interesting Notes: An aesthetic example of pyrite on calcite from Mexico!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of tiny, scalenohedral calcite crystals that have replaced some unknown prismatic crystals and were subsequently coated with brilliant, iridescent crystals of pyrite!!! Upon close inspection this specimen is simply incredible - the tiny calcite crystals have glassy luster and marked clarity, and the pyrite crystals have highly complex habits with mirror-brilliant metallic luster and curiously curved faces!!! This specimen is simply gorgeous in person!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
