Description/Interesting Notes:
A unique, old time example of calcite from Germany!!! This specimen consists of a large, tabular, triangular calcite crystal perched
on a small amount of matrix!!! The crystal appears to have a second, interpenetrant twin as well!!! The crystal has
glassy luster and sharp faces all around, with the main triangular face having slightly rounded, convex nature!!! The
main crystal has a "sprinkle" of reddish inclusions at its center as well!!! Simply gorgeous, old time material!!! Way better than the pics show!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer!!! We just acquired
the 6000+ specimen PERSONAL collection of Tony Nikischer and there are going to be some very exciting
minerals to come in the upcoming days and weeks!!! Prior to the Nikischer collection this specimen was in the collection of
Walter E. Kuenstler Collection No. 1688 (1887-1969) and also retains an old label from William C. Casperson (Casperson's) who
was once curator of the Paterson Museum's mineral collection!!! Old material!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
