Description/Interesting Notes: A classic calcite "heart twin" from this famed English locality!!! These famous "heart twins" were mined in the mid-to-late 1800's and have been highly prized by collectors ever since!!! This specimen consists of a characteristic "heart twin" pair of conjoined calcite crystals with a few tiny, intergrown prismatic calcite crystals in association at the bottom!!! The crystal has sharp, lustrous faces and translucent to gemmy clarity!!! The crystal is sharply terminated and shows sharply defined twinning!!! Although there is some minor damage the specimen is largely complete and displays fantastically all around!!! These classic beauties are quite scarce on today's market and always highly sought after!!! Classic 19th century material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer!!!
