An incredible example of caledonite and linarite from New Mexico!!! This specimen hosts a very rich showing of intensely colored caledonite on a matrix
of tiny quartz points in association with fluorite crystals, complex cerussite crystals, and some darker blue linarite and minor anglesite!!! The
fluorite crystals are complete and complexly etched, which gives them an almost glowing translucence in person!!! There is a group of galena crystals that
have been completely replaced by complex cerussite crystals!!! Often, one sees pseudomorphs (or more commonly epimorphs) of anglesite after galena from this
locality, however there is very little anglesite to be found at all on this specimen!!! The cerussite is readily recognizable too,
upon close inspection on can see the characteristic complex forms and twinning among the crystals!!! In fact, most of the tan colored crystals you see across the
face of the specimen are significant cerussite crystals!!! All of these interesting features aside - this specimen is absolutley gorgeous in person!!! The
intense, lively blue color of the caledonite is simply stunning!!! Such rich examples of caledonite are quite rare for this locality and this is perhaps one of the best
examples I have seen!!! This specimen was actually in Mandy's fluorite collection and was taken out of the cabinet in anticipation
for the Tucson show!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
