Dioptase and Caledonite with Calcite Blue Bell claims, Baker, San Bernardino Co., California 8.8cm x 6.52cm x 4.89cm Ex. Warren E. Hughes Collection

Description/Interesting Notes: An absolutely stunning, and rare example of caledonite, dioptase, and calcite from California!!! This specimen was very difficult to capture in the photos!!! This specimen hosts numerous crystals of blue caledonite intergrown with dioptase and calcite!!! I have never seen ANYTHING like it!!! There are instances where there are calcite crystals on top of caledonite but surrounded by dioptase so that the calcite looks blue - however the calcite is colorless and just allowing you to look through the dioptase layer and down to the caledonite!!! This specimen is truly incredible!!! A rare and unique California beauty indeed!!! This specimen retains an old Hughes Collection label!!!
