Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic, old time example of this very rare native silver and germanium bearing species from this classic German locality!!! This specimen
hosts groups of highly complex crystals of canfieldite to over 2.3mm!!! Although it is difficult to appreciate from the pics, the canfieldite
is quite well crystallized - present as lustrous, darkly colored crystals!!! There are some small veins of massive dark gray
acanthite present as well!!! This specimen retains an old label from the Freiberg Academy!!! The
old label uses an antiquated German term to describe the matrix, "braunspat" which can be synonymous with a number of
carbonate species!!! This is an outstanding example of this very rare species!!! OLD material from this classic and historic locality!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY DECEMBER 1st!!!
