Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of this rare species from California!!! Carpathite is one of the few rare species of naturally occuring ORGANIC mineral
species!!! This specimen hosts a group or particularly fine crystals of carpathite that range in size up to 2cm!!! These
crystals are sharp, lustrous, and terminated!!! Usually this species is only seen as somewhat poorly formed crystals, often embedded
in matrix - however this specimen is a magnificent example of the species!!! In addition to the fine carpathite crystals, there
are some small, scattered crystals of red cinnabar present as well!!! The carpathite fluoresces an intense blue under SW UV as well!!!
This specimen is from the University of Delaware Mineralogical Museum and retains an affixed catalogue number as well!!! Rare material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 6th!!!
