A classic, old time example of this highly prized pseudomorph from Cornwall!!! These old cassiterite after orthoclase pseudomorphs
came from a small, one time find in Wheal Coates around 1828 and have been highly sought after by collectors ever since!!! This
specimen consists of several intergrown orthoclase crystals that have all been completely replaced
by cassiterite!!! The orthoclase crystals
exhibit characteristic twinning and upon close examination with a loupe or scope one can see the minute, darkly colored crystals of cassiterite
that this historic pseudomorph is comprised of!!! This specimen has surprising heft for its size!!! This specimen retains
old labels from the Lord Calvert (1825-1897) Collection and Walter E. Kuenstler (1887-1969)
Collection as well!!! Don't miss out on this rare opportunity - these specimens are extremely difficult to obtain!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
