Description/Interesting Notes:
A classic, old time example of this highly prized pseudomorph from Cornwall!!! These old cassiterite
after orthoclase pseudomorphs came from a small, one time find in Wheal Coates around 1828 and have
been highly sought after by collectors ever since!!! This specimen consists of a
group of intergrown, sharply twinned orthoclase crystals that have been completely replaced by cassiterite!!! The
specimen is undamaged and complete all around!!! Upon close inspection one can see the minute, darkly colored
crystals of cassiterite that this prized pseudomorph is comprised of (in fact, the tiny, individual cassiterite crystals
are surprisingly well formed and even show some minor areas of clristy)!!! This specimen has considerable
heft for its size!!! These old time, historic specimens are extremely difficult to obtain!!! This is a VERY fine example and
was actually in the personal, competition collection of a very well known and respected dealer (further info will be provided to
winner)!!! This specimen is much more sharply detailed and three dimensional than the pics show!!! A very handsome
example of this highly sought after classic!!! Don't miss
out on this rare opportunity!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY OCTOBER 11th!!!
