Cerussite with Mimetite M'fouati, M'fouati District, Bouenza Department, Republic of Congo (Brazzaville) 7.6cm x 6.2cm x 4.55cm Ex. Sorbonne Museum

Description/Interesting Notes: An incredible and unusual old time example of cerussite from the Congo!!! This specimen is actually a huge SINGLE crystal of cerussite!!! The crystal has an unusual, rounded appearance however upon close inspection one can see small, crystalline features on the surfaces!!! The crystal actually has gemmy clarity and has a smoky color!!! There are also some tiny, bright orange crystals of mimetite tucked in some recesses as well!!! This is a large, hefty crystal that is unlike anything I have ever seen!!! This is OLD material and retains an old label from the Sorbonne Museum as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
