Description/Interesting Notes:
A unique old time example of quartz var. chalcedony from Texas!!! This specimen consists of a highly unusual and aesthetic formation of chalcedony!!! The chalcedony exhibits a fascinating display of flowing, slightly curvaceous, tear-drop like forms with concentric ridges!!! The old label states the following, "Variety 'angelwing,' peculiar flowing formation theoretically due to cave growth ina a strong blast of air."!!! Regardless of how it was formed, the effect is nothing short of incredible - the pics hardly capture it!!! The reverse side of the specimen shows some cylindrical cavities in the chalcedony as well!!! This specimen retains an old Donald C. Gabriel Collection label from the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum as well as affixed catalogue numbers!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MARCH 3rd!!!
