Chalcocite with Calcite

Cornwall, England

6.05cm x 4cm x 3.22cm

Ex. Morris Museum of Arts & Sciences

Description/Interesting Notes:

A fantastic, old time example of chalcocite and calcite from Cornwall!!! This specimen hosts numerous sharp crystals of chalcocite in association with highly complex calcite crystals!!! The crystals are sharp and complete, with crystals ranging in size to over 1cm!!! The crystals have sharply defined features and a somewhat metallic luster with a handsome bluish patina!!! The calcite crystals are quite intruiging upon close study, and some of them are studded with tiny, golden ball-like crystals of chalcopyrite!!! This specimen retains old labels from the Morris Museum of Arts & Sciences as well!!! Classic material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MAY 30th!!!
