Chalcocite pseudomorph after Covellite Leonard Mine, Butte, Butte District, Silver Bow Co., Montana 4.2cm x 2.6cm x 2.2cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A rare, old time example of chalcocite after covellite from Butted!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of prominent blades of covellite that have been completely replaced by chalcocite!!! The characteristic, bladed hexagonal habit of the covellite crystals is still quite evident!!! Simply a magnificent example of this rare and sought after pseudomorph from Butte!!! This specimen retains an old label from Forrest Cureton as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
