Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic example of chalcocite from Butte!!! This specimen consists of a large matrix of complexly CRYSTALLINE chalcopyrite that hosts numerous sharp chalcocite crystals and quartz crystals!!! The chalcocite crystals are much more plentiful and sharply formed than the pictures indicate!!! There are also several complex masses of what appear to be partially altered or pseudomorphous chalcopyrite!!! The matrix is actually a complex mass of crystalline chalcopyrite with slightly iridescent, dark golden metallic faces seen through the numerous quartz points!!! This a much more impressive specimen than the pics show!!! This specimen is from the collection of well known Butte collector and scholar Bob Jenkins and retains his original personal collection label as well as an old label from David New!!!
