Chalcocite with Calcite

Bristol Copper Mine, Bristol, Hartford Co., Connecticut

2.44cm x 1.77cm x 1.62cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A classic, old time example of chalcocite and calcite from this historic New England locale!!! These classic Bristol chalcocites date to the mid to late 1800's!!! This specimen consists of numerous, highly complex bladed crystals of chalcocite in handsome association with clusters of spikey, translucent crystals of calcite!!! Usually these famed chalcocite crystals were etched out of calcite matrix, so specimens such as this that were naturally exposed and in aesthetic association with calcite crystals are rare by comparison!!! This specimen is in fantastic condition and displays magnificently all around!!! Ex. Howard Belsky!!! Classic material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JULY 12th!!!
