Chalcocite with Apatite
Leonard Mine, Butte, Butte District (Summit Valley District), Silver Bow Co., Montana
1.65cm x 1.54cm x 1.35cm
Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare example of apatite and chalcocite from Butte!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of tiny chalcocite crystals that host several
sharp, light blue crystals of apatite!!! The matrix is comprised entirely of chalcocite and hosts much more crystalline material
than it appears in the pics!!! The chalcocite crystals are tiny but very well formed!!! The apatite crystals are sharp and glassy with
marked clarity as well!!! This specimen retains an old label from David New as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be
seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
