Description/Interesting Notes:
A unique, old time example of chalcocite with bornite from this historic locality!!! This specimen consists of a highly complex network of
intergrown chalcocite crystals that hosts a coating of fine, iridescent bornite!!! Upon close inspection, one can see
that this specimen is entirely comprised of well crystallized material all around!!! The colorful, iridescent crystals are quite
impressive when viewed with a loupe or scope!!! This is old, 19th century material and retains an old, unattributed handwritten label
that describes the specimen as "Vitreous Copper" which is an antiquated term for chalcocite!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 29th!!!
