Description/Interesting Notes: A magnificent example of chalcocite from Butte!!! This speicmen consists of a choice single crystal of chalcocite prominently perched on a stalk of matrix!!! The chalcocite crystal is sharp, undamaged, and complete!!! The crystal exhibits pronounced striations and measures over 1.7cm!!! The matrix hosts some tiny crystals of calcite and upon close inspection the "stalk" of matrix appears to possibly be comprised of crystalline bornite that have a slightly bluish hue!!! Upon close inspection of the chalcocite there are some tiny, secondary crystals of chalcocite present as well!!! This specimen is simply incredible in person!!! The pics don't even come close to capturing just how fine this specimen is!!! This specimen came from a small suite of choice, competition-worthy specimens and is simply stunning in person!!!
