Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutely incedible, old time example of chalcocite from this historic Connecticut locale!!! These
old time Bristol chalcocite specimens date to the mid 1800's and have been highly prized
by collectors ever since!!! Fine examples such as this, with signficant size and aesthetic presentation are
exceedingly scarce on todays market!!! This specimen hosts a large and impressive cluster of highly complex
crystals prominently perched on a matrix of sharp quartz points with a small amount of calcite in association!!! There are
some smaller chalcocite crystals scattered about and on the reverse as well!!! The main crystal is a
5cm contiguous group of highly complex forms that is WAY better than the pics show!!! The crystals are
sharply formed and in fantastic condition!!! The crystals have sharply defined features and show areas of
marked luster!!! It is difficult to appreciate in the pics - the crystals are much more sharp and complex in person and are
in fantastic condition as well (do not mistake areas of metallic luster for damage)!!! You do not
want to miss out on this valuable and historic beauty (this specimen had a previous price tag well into the thousands)!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY DECEMBER 20th!!!
