An absolutely magnificent combination of species from this classic New Mexico locale!!! This specimen consists of a large, broad plate of
sharp, gemmy quartz crystals that hosts numerous sharply twinned chalcopyrite crystals and pyrite crystals!!! The chalcopyrite cystals have rich, deep
brassy golden color with brilliantly metallic luster, sharp twinning and striated faces!!! The pyrite crystals are almost nickel-silver in comparison
to the chalcopyrite, which makes for a fantastic contrast between the two!!! The pyrite crystals are sharply cubic as well - another striking contrast!!!
In addition, there are tiny "balls" of sharply pointed calcite crystals perched atop a few of the quartz crystals, and upon close inspection one can find tiny submillimeter
hematite blades in them as well!!! There is also another unidentified species present as well!!! These old time classics are seldom seen today!!! This specimen
retains its original, large size label from the New Mexico Bureau of Mines & Mineral Resources Mineral Museum!!! The pics don't even come
close to doing it justice!!!
