Chalcopyrite and Pyrite on Magnetite French Creek Mines, St. Peters, Warwick Township, Chester Co., Pennsylvania 11.82cm x 10.66cm x 5.6cm

Description/Interesting Notes: An absolutely magnificent example of chalcopyrite from French Creek!!! This specimen consists of a sturdy matrix of massive magnetite that hosts an astonishing showing of highly complex chalcopyrite crystals in association with pyrite!!! The chalcopyrite crystals exhibit highly complex habits consisting of repeating skeletal triangles, concentric scales, and forms that simply defy description!!! The chalcopryite crystals have brilliant, multi-tonal brassy hues that are accented by tiny pyrite crystals that are almost silvery by comparison!!! This specimen is intensely aesthetic, bright, and showy in person!!! This specimen is in magnificent condition with no significant damage to speak of!!! This specimen is very sturdy as well, with a matrix of solid magnetite behind the chalcopyrite crystals (there are tiny vugs of magnetite crystals and some green byssolite on the reverse!)!!! There is also what is clearly a very old musuem-style catalogue label on the reverse as well!!! This specimen is a killer!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
