Cuprite var. Chalcotrichite Siberia, Russia 6.83cm x 5.6cm x 4cm Ex. Neree Boubee Ex. University of Delaware Mineral Museum

Description/Interesting Notes: A classic, old time example of cuprite var. chalcotrichite from Russia!!! This specimen hosts numerous areas of deep red cuprite var. chalcotrichite in darkly colored matrix!!! Upon close inspection one can see that the areas of chalcotrichite are actually comprised of fine networks of intergrown, hair-like crystals zig-zagging with sharp right angles!!! The crystallization is quite fine and there is much more to see than the pics show!!! This specimen retains an old label from the University of Delaware Mineral Museum as well as an old label from Neree Boubee as well!!! Old 19th century material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
