Chenevixite pseudomorph after Cuprite Sunnyside & Volcano Mines, Alum Gulch, Harshaw District, Patagonia Mts, Santa Cruz Co., Arizona 1.92cm x 1.14cm x .88cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A rare example of chenevixite after cuprite from Arizona!!! This specimen hosts a group of cubo-octahedral modified crystals of cuprite that have been completely replaced by lively green chenevixite on matrix!!! We recently acquired a few of these rare pseudomorphs from an old collection - however this was the ONLY matrix example!!! While these unusual pseudomorphs are quite rare, matrix examples are dramatically more so!!! The chenevixite pseudomorph after cuprite crystals exhibit pronounced octahedral form with significant cubic modifications!!! These crystals are complete pseudomorphs and are comprised of solid chenevixite!!! Upon close inspection one can see tiny balls of chenevixite as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
