Description/Interesting Notes:
An incredible, old time example of chlorargryite and emmonsite from New Mexico!!! This specimen hosts a very rich showing of both massive and
crystalline chlorargyrite in association with a rich association of light green emmonsite!!! A significant
portion of this specimen is comprised of chlorargyrite (likely the majority by weight!) and this is immediately apparent in person (nearly all of the
darkly colored material is chlorargyrite!!! The emmonsite is present in all of the complex cavities formed among the crystalline areas of
chlorargyrite!!! Upon close examination in person one can see that there are numerous very fine, razor sharp, lustrous crystals of
chlorargyrite poking through the rich green emmonsite!!! The emmonsite exhibits the characteristic, almost organic-looking form, under
close inspection!!! This is an incredible example of chlorargyrite in an of itself from this old time locality!!! This specimen is from the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum and retains old labels from the Michigan College of Mines as
well as an affixed catalogue number (the reverse of the museum label mentions emmonsite)!!! The pics don't even come close to doing it justice!!!
Simply incredible in person!!! Must be seen to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MARCH 24th!!!
