Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutely incredible, old time example of bromian chlorargyrite with native gold var. electrum from this historic Colorado locality!!! This
specimen consists of a very rich example of bromian chlorargyrite and native gold var. electrum!!! This specimen is comprised of a rich showing of bromian chlorargyrite
that hosts a significant amount of intergrown native gold var. electrum on a vuggy quartz matrix!!! This specimen hosts a significant amount of this
gold-rich chlorargyrite throughout the entire specimen!!! The bromian chlorargyrite is present as both masses and crystals that range in
color from translucent greenish yellow to opaque gray (more technically, we are probably looking at chlorargyrite and bromian chlorargyrite)!!! Upon
close examination, one can see some incredibly well formed crystals with sharp, lusrous faces and marked clarity!!! While
it is easy to overlook at first, upon close inspection with a loupe or scope, one finds that there is a significant amount of
native gold var. electrum present throughout the bromian chlorargyrite!!! The gold var. electrum is present as a fine, spongiform material
that is richly included within the bromian chlorargyrite (we actualy dissolved a small piece of the bromian chlorargyrite and exposed a delicate, whispy piece of native gold
var. electrum)!!! The pics simply do not capture just how significant this specimen is!!! It is a very rich specimen indeed!!!
Not only is it a rich silver-gold ore, it is historically rich, and upon close inspection with a loupe or scope it hosts an incredible
rich landscape of varied silver-halide crystals (among other rare species)!!! In addition
there are some curious unidentified rare species in association as well (one of the old labels makes note of this)!!! This specimen
is from the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum and retains old labels and affixed catalogue numbers as well!!! The pics don't even come close
to capturing just how incredible this rare old timer is!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JUNE 30th!!!
