Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare, old time example of "horn silver" chlorargyrite from this famous locality!!! "Horn Silver" is an
antiquated term given to rich crusts of Chlorargyrite that have been particularly weathered by desert conditions to resemble
the flat, dull luster of a cow horn!!! This specimen hosts a
rich showing of grayish-tan "horn silver" chlorargyrite!!! The chlorargyrite is present as thick veins that exhibit the characteristic
"horn silver" appearance however one can also see some complexly
crystalline forms upon close inspection!!! Curiously, portions of the matrix exhibit the same clay-like texture as the chlorargyrite and it
was found that some of the matrix is merely "smooshed" into the surface of what is actually just more chlorargyrite!!!
This specimen retains an old, unattributed label as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
