Description/Interesting Notes:
A historic, old time example of chlorargyrite from Utah!!! Frisco was well known as one of the wildest boom-towns in the region!!! The Horn Silver Mine
was discovered in 1875 and, tragically, caved in on February 13th 1885!!! Old time specimens from this locality are quite scarce
today!!! This specimen consists of a quartz matrix that hosts a significant showing of grayish chlorargryite scattered across its surfaces!!! Upon
close inspection one can see some subhedral crystal forms in the chlorargyrite as well!!! Chlorargyrite is also known as "horn silver" and it
is from this very material that this historic locality got its name!!! This specimen is from the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum and retains
its original label and catalogue number as well!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
Don't forget!!! THIS AUCTION WILL END ON *FRIDAY*, NOVEMBER 25th, due to the upcoming U.S. Thanksgiving holiday. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
