Description/Interesting Notes: An old time example of chlorargytite from this historic locality!!! This specimen consists of a plate of matrix that is richly intermixed with chlorargyrite!!! This specimen hosts numerous irregular masses of grayish-tan chlorargytite richly scattered across its broad face as well as intermixed throughout the matrix!!! This is old time material that dates to the late 19th century!!! Specimens from this locality are quite scarce today, as very few specimens survived smelting in the fervent search for riches!!! Nevada is known as "The Silver State" due to its rich silver-mining history and it all began in this famous district!!! This specimen has two old affixed catalogue numbers and retains a previous dealer label as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
