A terrific example of chondrodite from New Jersey!!! This specimen hosts several crystals of yellow chondrodite
in marble calcite matrix in association with a darkly colored spinel and some graphite crystals!!! One of the
chondrodite crystals is large and juts out prominently from the matrix!!! While the old label lists the
species as chondrodite, it is also possible that these are norbergite crystals (a closely related species)!!! This
specimen is from the
University of Delaware Mineralogical Museum and retains an affixed catalogue number an old label from the H.W. Allison mineral collection
as well!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
