Description/Interesting Notes: A classic, old time example of gemmy chonrodite with clinochlore and magnetite from this famed historic locality!!! This specimen consists of a sharp, lustrous, gemmy crystal of deep reddish orange chondrodite in association with several juxtaposed "books" of deep green clinochlore and complex crystals of darkly colored magnetite!!! This famous historic locality closed in 1897 after a tragic accident in which 13 miners perished!!! The unique specimens from this classic locality date to the 19th century and are highly sought after today!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
