Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutely incredible example of "chrome cerussite" from Tasmania!!! This specimen consists of a bright, lemon yellow crystal of
cerussite!!! The crystal is a complex sixling twin floater with no point of attachment!!! This beauty is razor-sharp, glassy, and pristine!!!
While these specimens are commonly referred to as "chromium cerussite," the color is actually not caused by chromium at all,
but, while not fully understood, is more likely some kind of organic component that is responsible for this intense and unique coloration
(they have done work with other cerussites that had varying amounts of chromium but no color expression at all!)!!! This specimen is literally
one of the finest single crystals I have ever seen!!! Truly an exceptional specimen indeed!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
