Chrysoberyl with Spessartine and Schorl Haddam, Middlesex Co., Connecticut 2" x 1.23" x 1.05" 5.05cm x 3.12cm x 2.66cm circa 1810

Description/Interesting Notes: An amazing classic indeed!!! A fantastic example of chrysoberyl in association with spessartine and schorl tourmaline!!! The chrysoberyl crystals exhibit classic and sharp sixlet twinning and have the characteristic greenish yellow color!!! This specimen hosts numerous chrysoberyl crystals measuring up to over 6mm!!! The pics don't even come close to doing this classic beauty justice!!! These old Haddam chrysoberyl specimens are virtually impossible to obtain!!! This specimen dates back to 1810!!! I was lucky enough to obtain this specimen from a noted East Coast mineral collector at the spring '08 Franklin, NJ show!!! It is my understanding that these chrysoberyl specimens were initially found during the excavation of a home in 1810!!!
