Description/Interesting Notes:
A gorgeous, old time example of "gem silica" from this classic Arizona locality!!! This specimen consists of a intensely colorful combintion of
quartz, chrysocholla, and malachite (although it appears there may be some brochantite as well - note the two distinctly different colors of green!)!!! This
specimen hosts a dazzling showing of
blues and greens swirling about in concentric bands and curious forms!!! This is gem grade material that
is hard, dense, and heavy!!! There are
some areas of quartz crystals that cover an area of bright green malachite (or possibly brochantite)
and there is also an area of acicular bright green brochantite present on the specimen as well!!! There are all manner of curious
features and artful arrangements of form and color scattered all over this gorgeous old time Arizona beauty!!!
The pics don't even come close to doing it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! This specimen is from
the collection of Florence Mecke and retains her original label as well!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MARCH 31st!!!
