Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutely INCREDIBLE example of "gem silica" after azurite from this famed Arizona locale!!! This specimen consists of a large
mass of colorful chrysocholla and quartz "gem silica" that hosts several broad vugs filled with sharply defined "gem silica" pseudomorphs after
azurite crystals!!! This specimen would be valuable in and of itself for its "gem silica" however the azurite crystal
pseudomorphs are simply extraordinary!!! In addition to the quartz var.
chalcedony and chrysocolla "gem silica" there is a small amount of malachite intergrown with the matrix
(interestingly, some pseudomorphs show continuation to a whitish mineralization of unknown identity as well)!!!
These old time gem silica pseudomorphs after azurite are very rare and specimens of such size and significance are
exponentially more so!!! This specimen could easily be trimmed into several smaller specimens if so desired - there is a LOT more
pseudomorphic material here than the pics show!!! In person this specimen is INCREDIBLE!!! The color is much more intense
and dramatic in person - as are the overall aesthetics and three-dimensionality of the specimen as well!!! You
do not want to miss out on this rare and valuable beauty!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY OCTOBER 11th!!!
