Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutely incredible, old time example of cinnabar from this classic Old World locality!!! This specimen consists of a
massive cinnabar matrix that hosts SUPERB crystals to over 1.4cm!!! I must say that these
crystals are WAY better than they appear in the pictures!!! In person the crystals are intensely colorful and gemmy with sharp, brilliantly
lustrous faces!!! The crystals' gemminess and incredible ruby red color are much more pronounced in person!!! The crystals
are in amazing condition as well, aside
from the one crystal on the periphery, the crystals are largely complete and undamaged!!! Given that this is older material, this is absolutely
exceptional condition!!! This is truly a world-class example of the species for a Spanish cinnabar specimen!!! This specimen is from the
collection of Paul Lazar!!! The Lazar collection was originally dispersed years ago, however there were a handful of choice specimens from the collection
that had been squirreled away prior to its dispersal - this cinnabar being one of those specimens!!! This specimen retains its original label as well!!!
