Description/Interesting Notes:
A magnificent and unique example of clinochlore from Italy!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of pristine, razor-sharp
crystals of clinochlore var. pennine!!! The crystals are actually gemmy and in person posses the unique property of
exhibiting deep dark chrome green color down the c-axis and brownish color through the prism faces!!! The crystals
have a light coating of very tiny, microcrystals of what appear to be quartz!!! The crystals are much more sharply
defined and deeper in color than it appears in the pics!!! In person this is AMAZING material!!! Some of the crystals
also exhibit triangular zonations when viewed down the c-axis!!!
There is also some white, glassy, fibrous-looking crystals in association!!! These white crystals are actually quite rigid and, upon
close inspection exhibit features not unlike clinozoisite!!! The pictures simply do not do this amazing specimen justice!!! This specimen is in magnificent condition all around!!!
Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
