Description/Interesting Notes:
An incredible, old time example of chromium clinochlore from this historic Pennsylvania locale!!! This specimen hosts a broad face loaded
with sharp, lustrous, gemmy crystals of chromium clinochlore!!! These crystals are quite unusual in that they exhibit an incredible,
bicolor appearance!!! The crystals appear to be a rich dark chrome green, however when one views the specimen at an angle the
crystals exhibit a rich purple color!!! Upon close inspection, one can see that these crystals are actually BICOLOR, with
well defined cores of purple followed by an outer zone of green!!! The crystals are very well formed and have gem clarity throughout!!!
The crystals catch the light in a lively fashion, showing bright glowing color as well!!! This is an AMAZING example of the species
from this locality!!! The pics don't even come close to doing it justice!!! The crystals are much more significant and three-dimensional
than the pics show!!! The crystals range in size to 5mm and are very well defined!!! This specimen retains an old
label from Schortmann's New York City Exhibition and Sale in 1945 as well!!! Simply incredible in person!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MARCH 29th!!!
