Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare, old time example of cobaltoan calcite from England!!! These old time examples of cobaltoan calcite from the Tynebottom Mine are VERY
rare and highly sought after by collectors!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of translucent, pink cobaltoan calcite
on matrix!!! The cobaltoan calcite has rich pink color with marked translucence and a unique, velveteen luster!!! The
few specimens I have seen of this rare material are always present as crusts without matrix - this is the ONLY matrix specimen I have
ever seen!!! This specimen is in fantastic condition and displays magnificently in person!!! This specimen
retains an old Gregory, Bottley, & Co. label and is from the University of Delaware Mineralogical Museum as well!!! RARE material - you do
not want to miss out on this rare opportunity!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY APRIL 5th!!!
