Description/Interesting Notes:
A magnificent example of these rare platinum and palladium bearing species from this famous locality!!!
This specimen consists of a pyroxene matrix that hosts numerous significant masses and grains of silvery metallic
cooperite and braggite with minute moncheite inclusions!!! The pyroxene
crystals have marked luster and translucence, and are intergrown at juxtaposed angles - making it difficult to capture
the luster of the metallic grains in the pics!!! In person, one can see that there are
grains of metallic cooperite, braggite, and moncheite scattered throughout both sides of this specimen!!! Upon close inspection
with a loupe or scope, one can see that there is much more material present than the pics show!!! With careful examination, one
can see the varying metallic hues of the seperate species in some areas as well!!! There is some minor golden, chalcopyrite present, however
some of the PGM material has a slightly iridescent patina as well!!! This
specimen is from the same single mass that we sold several polished and analyzed slabs from some time ago!!! This is the
last remaining example of this very rare material!!! Don't miss out!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
