Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare and rich example of this platinum and palladium bearing species from South Africa!!! This specimen consists of a very rich,
solid mass of cooperite in association with a small amount of matrix!!! The specimen has been cut and polished on two sides to allow
for further examination and analysis!!! Upon close examination one can see that the large silvery metallic mass of cooperite has a
defined area of a slightly different hue - I am told that this area is likely braggite, the dimorph of cooperite!!! One can also see
that there appears to be a small amount of golden metallic material in minor association as well!!! This specimen retains an old label
from Forest Cureton as well!!! This specimen was one of two exceptional examples of this species that we recently acquired - rarely do you see such
fine examples of this rare species come up for sale!!!
Simply an outstanding and very rich example of this rare platinum and palladium bearing rare species!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
